EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL CULTURE SUMMIT 2020

Sistema Scotland and Big Noise Raploch were delighted to be asked to participate in this year's Edinburgh International Culture Summit. 2020 was a special online edition of the event, focusing on the Transformational Power of Culture.

The young musicians of Big Noise Raploch were able to work again with their counterparts from YOLA (who you may remember from last year's Raploch residency) on a joint digital performance of Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity by Gustav Holst. This was a wonderful opportunity for the children and young people after many challenging months, with significant support from the Big Noise Raploch team.  Click the image below to view this amazing performance on Youtube.

Our CEO, Nicola Killean OBE, also took part in the summit - participating in a live webinar exploring Culture in Vibrant Communities and speaking at length about the many and varied benefits of programmes such as Big Noise for children and young people. She was joined by Big Noise Raploch alumni, Symone Hutchison. Click on the image below to view the EICS film about YOLA and Big Noise: Systemic benefits of youth music, on Youtube.
