Now four and a half years old, Big Noise is ready to spread its wings! We are getting ready to start working in the community of Govanhill in Glasgow in the spring of 2013. The Scottish Government has given us money to enable us to have a great start in Govanhill. The community is about four times the size of Raploch so there will be a lot of children involved right from the beginning.

In order to deliver lessons in the four primary schools and the nursery in the area we will form a team of 7 musicians at the start of the new year. As we branch out and form new centres Big Noise Raploch will become our centre of excellence where new staff can experience the curriculum we’ve built up and train alongside our brilliant team of musicians.
After being here since the start of Big Noise in 2008 I am now moving on to lead the new team of musicians in Govanhill. With years of experience in Raploch I am looking forward to working in a very different community where no doubt there will be many challenges and many successes. I am also very sad to be leaving the children and families of Raploch, especially some of the children I have taught since the beginning. Well I won’t be far away and they certainly won’t have seen the last of me but there are new chapters ahead!
