With the Easter holidays not far away we are now planning the 6th instalment of our Big Noise Stirlingwide week.
This year's course will be held at the Raploch community Campus from Monday 9th April - Thursday 12th April. This course is open to all young people aged 6 - 18 who play orchestral instruments in Stirling and Clackmannanshire and is free to all participants. The Big Noise Stirlingwide Easter Holiday Club 2018 will run from 9.30am - 12.30pm for primary-aged children and from 1.00pm - 4.00pm for high school-aged children. These are guidelines and we can be flexible in catering for advanced-level primary and intermediate-level high school children.
There will be informal concerts on Thursday 12th at 11.30am for the beginner and intermediate groups and at 3.00pm for the advanced groups.
There are no specific entry requirements - we just ask that on the form you give as much information as possible about your child's approximate grade standard and their experience of playing in orchestras and indicate whether you think they would be best in either the beginner, intermediate or advanced ensembles.
To help you identify which group level your child may best be suited, we have included the following as a guide:
- Beginner groups = grade 0-1, or up to 1 year playing experience
- Intermediate groups = grade 1-3, or 2-3 years playing experience
- Advanced groups = grade 3 and above, or more than 3 years playing experience
There are various ways that you can apply:
- you can fill in an online form here
- you can print and return the enrolment form
- you can drop by the Big Noise office at Raploch Community Campus and register your child in person
Though we hope to cater for as many young people as possible places will be limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 3rd April and we will let everyone know if they have got a place by Friday 6th April. However, we have not yet had to refuse anyone a place so please keep the dates free in your diary!
We look forward to another exciting week of music-making!
