Michelle Opit - Operations Manager
Michelle was born and grew up in Australia and after graduating from Melbourne University, she lived and worked in England, Europe and the Middle East, working as an ESOL teacher. She finally settled in Glasgow in 1991 and qualified in HR Management, going on to work with the Scottish Enterprise Network as a HR advisor to young social enterprises and start ups. In 2007, she joined The Hidden Gardens Trust, and in 2009 moved to Glasgow Life, joining Tramway as Assistant Venue Manager and more latterly The Mitchell Library. In January 2016 she joined Big Noise Govanhill taking on the role of Operations Manager.
In her spare time, whilst not playing an instrument, she is a keen audience member of all sorts of arts and music, and has volunteered for Scottish Detainees Visitors and Positive Action for Housing.
Catherine Innes - Operations Administrator
Catherine was born and educated in Glasgow and initially trained as a bilingual secretary. Her first job was in Edinburgh during the mid 1980s as a Sales Administrator and from then has worked as an administrator for various companies in Glasgow over the last 30 years. She is also a qualified jeweller gaining an HND in Jewellery Design and Manufacture in 2015.
Emma Baillie - Administrator
Emma joined the team at Big Noise Govanhill in July 2018. Before that, she worked at Scottish Adoption in Edinburgh, as part of their After Adoption team. She has also worked at Garvald Edinburgh as an administrator in a day service for adults with learning disabilities.
Emma grew up in West Yorkshire and the Welsh borders, but has spent most of her life in Scotland, since moving up to St Andrews to study Mediaeval History at university and deciding to make her home here.
Though she loves listening to music and attending live performances she has absolutely no musical talent or training, though is proud of having achieved her Grade 1 recorder (with merit) at school.
